Well, it looks like i've been watching a lot of NBC Miami. I catch the last 10 minutes of it before i go to work. I used to tune in to "Muy Buenos Diaz" on the Telemundo chanel but they changed it to the World's most amazing videos.

I love my NBC Miami girls, but it's not enough to make my girl for this month. Better luck next time girls.

Knicks rout Blazers in first game without Mike D'Antoni

NEW YORK (espn)-- Maybe Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks never would have got it right under Mike D'Antoni.
With their coach gone, they finally played offense the way he would have wanted.
Amare Stoudemire made all seven shots in the first half, Anthony passed and shot well, and the Knicks shook off the surprising departure of their coach to rout the Portland Trail Blazers 121-79 on Wednesday night, snapping a six-game losing streak.

Anthony was home napping when news came that D'Antoni had resigned. A few hours later, he and the Knicks finally woke up.
"Under the circumstances, we came out and put everything aside and played basketball tonight and had fun," Anthony said. "We haven't had fun like that in a long time and tonight it was a good way to come out and get this 'W.'"

Anthony, who denied wanting a trade or having friction with D'Antoni earlier Wednesday, had 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting and tied a season high with seven assists. Stoudemire finished with 17 points and shot 8 of 10, before both stars sat out the fourth quarter while the Knicks rang up their highest point total of the season.
D'Antoni decided to step down Wednesday, shocking his bosses and players. But the Knicks delivered a powerful performance and a good imitation of his offense in their first game under interim coach Mike Woodson, getting 23 points from J.R. Smith, 20 from Steve Novak, and making a season-high 19 3-pointers, one off the franchise record.
"When you look into their eyes after something like this has happened, you know, you wonder as a coach are they mentally there?" Woodson said. "And I just told them to take a deep breath and relax and let's go out and have fun and play basketball the way I think we're capable of doing it, and I think they responded."
The Knicks had dropped into a tie for eighth place in the Eastern Conference before breaking out with the kind of effort that was expected from a team that D'Antoni said was good enough to contend for a championship.
Stoudemire, who also played for D'Antoni in Phoenix, said he too was surprised by his coach's departure.
"But again, that's the business that we're in," he said. "So we've got to be able to roll with the punches and retaliate to the point where we play well, as we did tonight."
LaMarcus Aldridge and Gerald Wallace each scored 15 points for the Trail Blazers, who were blown out for the second straight night and lost for the fourth time in five games.
"Losing by 30, 40 points, that's embarrassing," center Marcus Camby said. "I haven't been around anything like that since my first two years in the league when I was on an expansion team."
Portland showed no energy after its 92-75 loss in Indiana on Tuesday and played without guard Jamal Crawford, whose name been linked to trade rumors ahead of the Thursday afternoon deadline.
So was Anthony's on Wednesday, with a report in the New York Post that he would welcome a deal barely a year after the Knicks acquired him in a blockbuster with Denver. He emphatically denied the report, but it had become clear how much trouble he and D'Antoni had in finding a way to make the All-Star forward productive in his system.
D'Antoni seemed committed to figuring it out and appeared in good spirits Wednesday after putting the Knicks through their morning workout. But he had already met with assistant general manager Glen Grunwald and informed him of his plans. They would later meet with Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan, who said D'Antoni offered to stay before they agreed to a mutual parting.
Woodson inherited the job for the remainder of the season, but Dolan made it clear he would be re-evaluated after the season.
Woodson made a good first impression and was rewarded by fans chanting his name near the finish.
"Tonight was one of my most frustrating nights of being a pro, being down that much," Aldridge said. "We just looked lost out there. It was just one thing on top of another tonight."
The Knicks raced to a 25-12 lead and extended it to 55-29 at the break, their fewest points allowed in an opening quarter or a half all season. They had 16 assists on 21 baskets, with Jeremy Lin getting one of his six by throwing a long pass on the break to a streaking Anthony for a layup.
Anthony's passing was even better. His touch pass to Stoudemire led to a first-half dunk, and he dropped a pass backward to Tyson Chandler early in the second for a layup and a foul, hopping behind the basket in delight as the shot fell through the net.
It was Anthony's inability -- or, critics said, unwillingness -- to move the ball the way D'Antoni preaches that made it hard for the coach's system to work whenever the All-Star was on the floor. New York had gone 2-8 since Anthony returned from a groin injury.
He heard boos again during introductions for the second straight home game, but seemed much happier than in recent games, at one point running to midcourt to greet teammates while waving a towel after a Portland timeout.

Game notes
Reserve forward Jared Jeffries, one of the Knicks' best defensive players, returned to the lineup after missing four games with a sore right knee. The Knicks open a home-and-home series with the Indiana Pacers on Friday at Madison Square Garden. ... Camby, a former Knick, delivered a hard foul on Landry Fields that was originally called a flagrant-2, which would have been automatic ejection, before it was downgraded to a flagrant-1 after review.


This is good news for the Knicks fans. Winning by a huge margin is certainly an morale booster for the team. Do you still think the team's problem is Melo. We'll see what's next in the next few games.

Some interesting and creepy stories

I just wanna share some creepy stories from pinoyexchange.

1. MURDER ON LOVER'S LANE

In 1964, a University of Kansas freshman was driving home from a date with his girlfriend when he had an idea: if he pretended to run out of gas, he might be able to turn it into AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A BIT OF SLAP AND TICKLE. He stalled the car in a suitably secluded lane but his attempts at seduction failed-and, to make matters worse, when he tried the ignition, the car wouldn't start.

He told his girlfriend that he would run back to a gas station they'd passed a couple of miles back, cautioning her to lock all the doors and not, under any circumstances, to get out of the car. So the girl sat listening to the radio waiting for him to return. Then she heard a strange banging noise on the roof of the car.

She was tempted to get out and see what it was, but she remembered her boyfriend's warning to stay in the car. She turned up the radio but she could still hear the banging, louder now and more insistent. Then she saw blue flashing lights and heard a policeman telling her over a loudhailer to get out of the car and walk toward him without looking back.

She did as she was told except that at the last minute, like Lot's wife, she looked back. But instead of being turned into a pillar of salt, she saw a man she later discovered to be AN ESCAPED PSYCHOPATH SITTING ON TOP OF THE CAR BANGING ON THE ROOF WITH HER BOYFRIEND'S BLOODY SEVERED HEAD.

2. GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY

In July 1969, one-fifth of the world's population watched on television as Neil Armstrong became the first human to walk on the Moon. His famous utterance "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind" was interrupted by static and there has been argument ever since about whether he said "man" or "a man"-without the "a" his famous statement is meaningless.

Everyone then became so absorbed in watching him walk on the surface of the Moon that FEW PEOPLE THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT HE SAID NEXT. Footage of the moonwalk reveals that as he took his second step he said: "Good luck, Mr. Gorsky." Mission Control thought he was referring to a Soviet cosmonaut, but checks revealed that there was no cosmonaut by that name.

For years, the famously reticent Armstrong refused to divulge who he was referring to. But in July 1995, during a rare press conference in Florida, a reporter brought up the question again and Armstrong came clean. Saying that HE HOPED HE WOULDN'T CAUSE ANYONE EMBARASSMENT now that his childhood neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Gorsky had passed on, Armstrong explained that one summer as a child he had been playing baseball with his brother, who had hit the ball into the Gorsky's yard. When Neil went to collect the ball HE HAD DISTINCTLY HEARD MRS. GORSKY, through an open window, SAYING TO HER HUSBAND: "Lobster thermidor? You'll get a lobster thermidor the day the kid next door walks on the Moon."

3. BABYSITTER'S INTRUDER NIGHTMARE

During the 1960's, a teenage girl in Perth, Western Australia, was babysitting for neighbors who habitually phoned to check that the children had settled down for the night.

But when the phone rang as expected and the babysitter answered it, ALL SHE HEARD WAS HEAVY BREATHING. The phone rang again five minutes later, and this time she was reluctant to pick it up. However, thinking that it might be the neighbors wanting reassurance about the children, she did-and this time the crank caller said "I'm watching you," and BEGAN TO DESCRIBE WHAT SHE WAS WEARING. Scared stiff, the girl broke the connection and immediately dialed the police, who told her that if the crank called again she should keep him talking while they traced the call. Sure enough, as soon as she hung up the phone, it rang again, and this time the caller said, "I THINK YOU'D BETTER CHECK THE CHILDREN." laughed maniacally, and quickly slammed the phone down as though he was aware that the call might be traced.

The terrified girl locked all the doors and windows and ran upstairs to check on the children, ignoring the phone when it rang yet again. But the missed phone call was the police calling to tell her to get out of the house because the call had been traced to an upstairs extension. Coming down the staircase as she ran up it to the children was a MASKED MAN, COVERED IN BLOOD AND CARRYING A MEAT CLEAVER.

4. KIDNEY HARVESTING

In 1996, a student at the University of Texas went to a party where he had a few beers and picked up a girl, who seemed surprisingly open to his advances. He was amazed and delighted when she suggested leaving the party and going to a bar where they could have a few more drinks in privacy, and even more staggered when she suggested going back to her hotel room.

But he didn't remember anything else until the next morning, when HE AWOKE NAKED IN A BATH OF ICE. He had a terrible headache and there was a dull ache in his lower back. He rubbed his eyes and looked around, trying to work out where he was, when he saw a note written on the wall in lipstick. It read: "CALL 911 OR YOU WILL DIE."

Still feeling groggy-which he assumed was a hangover from the alcohol he'd consumed-he picked up a telephone that had been left on a cabinet next to the bathtub. He called 911 and told the operator about the weird situation he was in. The operator told him not to make any sudden movements. WAS THERE A SMALL TUBE PROTRUDING FROM HIS LOWER BACK? To his horror, the student found that there was. The operator told him not to move from the bathtub of ice and to wait for an ambulance, which was being sent as a top priority-he was the latest victim of a gang that was targetting students and removing their kidneys for sale on the black market.

When this story was reported in student newspapers, the gangs found that students became wore wary, and so began targeting lone business travelers instead. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, reports emerged of similar horrors happening to business travelers in cities across the US, and later Europe. MOST OF THE VICTIMS WERE MEN SITTING ALONE HAVING A NIGHTCAP AT THE HOTEL BAR. A fellow businessman or attractive woman would offer to buy the victim a drink, and the next thing the hapless person would remember was waking up minus a kidney.

Philippine Urban Legends Part 1

First, what is the meaning of Urban Legend?

Urban Legend is a secondhand story told as true and just plausible enough to be believed, embarrasing, ironic or exaspering series of events that is supposedly happened to a real person.

Here are some Urban Legend stories which i find interesting to read. You might find it interesting too.

1. The 80's Craze Killer of New Manila
There were stories about a couple out on a date. This couple was stuck in a creepy area when they ran out of gas. The guy went out to try to get some gas and left his girlfriend inside the car. About half an hour later, the girl noticed that there was this man watcing her from a dark portion of th road. Shen then locked all the doors of the car when she saw te man walking towards her. The strange man tired to force the doors open, the girl honked to get the attention and hoping to scare the guy away. The man finally gave up and run away.

After a few minutes, the man came back and started circling the car. The girl was about to honk the horn when the man lifted something on his hand and walks towards the car. TO the girlfriends horror, she realized that it was her boyfriends decapitated head. She screamed in fear but nothing prepared her for what came next. The stranger lifted his other hand and the girl saw that he had in his possesion the car keys of the boyfriend.

The next day, authorities found the girl inside the car crying and laughing, saying things did'nt make sense. She was driven insane by something, they didn't know.

Up to this day, the stange man was never found.


2. The Medical Student
A group of medical students decided to play a harmless prank on their easily frightened classmate. They planned a special study session to be held in the cadaver room with their intended victim. When the girl arrived for the session and found no one in the room, she thought she was too early and decided to read her notes. The rest of the group mates were actually hiding and they switched the lights off. The girl screamed and screamed to no avail and then all of a sudden she stopped. After a while, the pranksters began to wonder what had happened. Upon turning the lights on, they were shocked to see their hapless classmate gnawing on a piece of the cadaver.


3. The Manila Film Center Tragedy
It all started with Francis Ford Coppola and Peter Weir. Both had films about to direct and chose the Philippines to stand in for Vietnam and Indonesia, respectively. Having tasted a bit of Hollywood, Imelda had the grandiose notion to turn Manila into the Cannes of the Pacipic by starting an internatioanl film festival. In order to do so, she required a suitable venue for her envisioned Manila International Film Festival (MIFF).

Having set a date of January 18. 1982 for the start of the festival. Imelda needed to get starting on building her newest adifice. For her last major project at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, she passed over Leandro Locsin and chose architect Froilan Hong.

The tragedy struck on November 17, 1981, shortly before 3:00 am when the scaffolding for part os the second basement collapsed and burying an unknown number of the graveyar shift workers in the quick drying cement. Imelda believed in 24-hour labor.

In her rush to complete the project in time for the MIFF, Imelda order that fresh concrete be poured over the dead workers and construction continue.

7,000 labourers working round the clock between Christmas day 1981 and January 18, 1982 got the Center built with 15 minutes to spare.

So, are the ghost of the trapped workers real or just a myth?
